Data we collect
Information collected during interviews
When you participate in an interview through MeoInterview, we collect the following information:
- Identity information: your name and email address, provided when you or a hiring team creates an interview session.
- Profile information: LinkedIn profile URL or text, resume content, or other professional background you provide.
- Audio and video recordings: when you join an interview room and grant camera/microphone access, your audio and video are recorded for the duration of the session.
- Transcripts: audio from your interview is transcribed into text in real time and stored alongside the recording.
- Session metadata: timestamps for consent, device checks, room join/leave events, and interview completion.
- Device information: basic browser and device capability data collected during the pre-interview device check.
AI usage
How artificial intelligence is used
MeoInterview uses AI technology in the following ways:
- AI interviewer: your interview is conducted by an AI agent that asks structured questions based on the job description and your background. The AI interviewer follows a pre-built interview guide designed by the hiring team.
- Interview guide generation: AI generates a tailored interview plan from your resume or profile and the job description.
- Transcription: AI-powered speech-to-text converts your spoken answers into written transcripts.
- Evidence extraction: AI identifies and highlights evidence anchors from your responses to assist human reviewers in evaluating your answers.
- Report generation: AI produces summary reports and debrief documents from interview transcripts. These reports are tools for human reviewers and do not replace human judgment in hiring decisions.
Recording and transcription
How recordings are handled
Interview recordings and transcripts are used solely to support the hiring evaluation process:
- Audio is transcribed in real time and stored as part of the interview record.
- Recordings and transcripts are accessible to the hiring team associated with the interview session.
- Recordings are not shared publicly or used for purposes outside the hiring evaluation.
Reports and human review
How interview results are used
AI-generated reports summarize your interview performance and highlight relevant evidence from your responses. These reports:
- Are provided to the hiring team as reference material to support their evaluation.
- Are reviewed by human members of the hiring team before any hiring decisions are made.
- Do not serve as the sole basis for hiring decisions. Human reviewers apply their own judgment when evaluating candidates.
- For public sample interviews, a debrief summary is made available to you directly after the session.
Data retention
How long we keep your data
- Interview recordings, transcripts, and reports are retained for up to 12 months after the interview date, unless the hiring organization requires a shorter or longer retention period.
- Public sample interview data may be retained for up to 6 months for product improvement and follow-up purposes.
- You may request deletion of your interview data at any time by contacting us at the address below.
Data security
How we protect your information
- Interview sessions use secure, token-based invite links that expire after a set period.
- Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS) and stored in access-controlled databases.
- Access to interview data is limited to authorized members of the hiring team and platform administrators.
